Eleven weeks of summer horse camp fun to choose from! River Ranch Educational Charities Spring & Summer Horse Camps '09 were a huge success, and we are looking forward to even better, more improved camps for 2010. Registration will start March 15th. Thanks to all who supported us this past year, and we hope to see you again spring & summer!
Frisco Horse Park is the BEST place your child/teen can be during spring break & summer break for learning more about horses, from the basic rider to the more advanced...with various ongoing themes from - "Basics of Western Riding", "Required Equine Equipment", "Daily Care" and "ABC's of Training". Also included are barn and ranch skills, crafts, water activities, guest speakers, other farm animal fun and a great staff. The majority of our staff is CPR certified, all are experienced, background checked and have a passion for kids and horses! Campers will get at least 2 hours of ride time per day (weather permitting).
We have 11 weeks of camp to choose from, Check out our "Special Buckaroos" week for special needs kids as well (free). Regular Camp Hours are 9am-4pm with early drop-off and late pick-up optional from 7am-9am & from 4pm-6pm. We are a family based program and have over 10 years camp experience!
Ages are 6-13, with Campers splitting into 3 separate groups. Groups will be rotating throughout the day with different equine activities.
Our Special Buckaroos camp week will be the last week of camp which is typically the last week of summer break. This week is for all our special needs and under privileged children wanting to experience the joys of riding and learning about horses. Reduced ratio and specially trained staff are available to care for your camper during this week. This weeks schedule is a revised and shorter version of our regular camper daily schedule. Hours are typically 9a-1p. We offer this week of camp to high functioning special needs kids. A parent or guardian must accompany the child unless approval is given for the child to attend on their own.
One day “drop in's” are welcome during camp from Monday through Thursday. The cost is $60 (9am-4pm) or $75 for early drop off and late pick up (7am-6pm). T-shirts are not included for 1 day drop-in’s. You are welcome to purchase 1 for your camper for $15.
You may drop your application off at the ranch, fax it to 972-335-7454, Scan & Email it to info@friscohorsepark.org or mail it to "River Ranch Educational Charities, c/o Frisco Horse Park, 13100 State Hwy. 121, Frisco, TX 75035.
YOU MUST make checks payable to: River Ranch Educational Charities or RREC). (They will not be accepted otherwise!)
Cost is $300 per week with 1 of the following discounts available: a 10% discount given for paying in full at least 1 month prior to your week of camp, a 10% discount to siblings or a 20% discount for those attending 3 or more full weeks of camp.
Regarding STAFF: Each staff person will be carefully selected according to their experience, maturity as well as being a good role model for your children. Since we are licensed by the Health Department, we follow their guidelines regarding screening of applicants. Background checks are done, references carefully checked and staff are CPR certified according to state guidelines.
Parent Orientation for all campers and their parents happens Monday morning from 9a-9:30a each Monday every week of camp. You will be able to see the facility, meet the staff, ask questions & confirm your kids are in for a great ride! Thank you for allowing us to serve you and your family this summer.
