Volunteers at Frisco Horse Park
CONGRATULATIONS Cathy Barnette for being awarded the Volunteer of the Year! She was honored by the Volunteer Center of N. Texas at the Lone Star Salute Breakfast Banquet and Awards Ceremony on April 15th at the Plano Centre.

Cathy was chosen for her outstanding volunteer service to the ranch over the past years. She helped us so much as a volunteer trail guide & photographer for our horse records & horse camps and in many other areas of service. She helped the ranch raise money, grow and reach a higher level of professionalism by being here.

Thank you Cathy!  We hope to see you soon!

People who are wanting to volunteer usually share our love and passion for...you guessed it...HORSES! OH YEAH! Volunteering has SO many benefits.

Earn volunteer hours for college/high school Learn first hand how to care for horses, what all is involved in working on a ranch, etc. Earn Ride Time & Have Fun!

Taking care of horses and managing a horse park is a lot of work and our volunteers help us tremendously in getting the job done. Please understand that although it is a lot of fun, it is expected for you to work hard if you make the commitment to volunteer.  If you’ve agreed to complete a task we expect you to make sure it is done!  Not following through can cause some serious problems when it comes to keeping our horses healthy & happy!

All volunteers must dress appropriately: no short shorts, no overly low cut shirts, no t-shirts with immoral sayings/logos, hair must look neat, no i-pods (you need to hear if something in your immediate surroundings suddenly changes, i.e. horses getting out, kicking, farm equipment comin’ through, etc.), wear boots & come ready to work.

Age to do Volunteer Hours is 15. There is a lot of responsibility working at a ranch and we feel having teens working under this age is not beneficial to us or the teenager. If they are 10 - 14 and have an adult with them at all times also working, they can volunteer.

Before Volunteering, you MUST attend an Orientation/Training Meeting. New Volunteer Orientation/Trainings are held on either Thursday evenings or Sunday afternoons.  Please call to confirm the day, dates & times.  It will vary according to what works best with our schedule & with the majority of the new volunteers schedules that are signed up to attend.  You will receive hours towards your volunteer trading options for the Orientation/Training.

We request that you call us ahead of time to let us know when you are coming in so we can put you on the schedule & have your name added to the list for the upcoming meeting. Please bring all the New Volunteer Forms completed plus the Rider Information & Waiver form. (All Waivers MUST be signed by the parent if under 18).

Please click on the "Forms" link or below for all the necessary paperwork to bring with you on your first day.

We are always looking for experienced ranch & horse folk!  We have many organizational, painting, building, constructing type projects that you could help out with.  We also love to have back up trail guides & instructors if you are qualified & pass our evaluation.
